For instance, you must have heard of this superstition which says that you should never send Christmas carolers from your house empty handed, even if they don’t sing too well. It’s considered bad luck to do so. You should offer carolers food or drink and a bit of money. Another one goes that you should keep a branch of a cherry tree in water at the beginning of advent.
