Where to get the Best Burgers in New York City

If you are in the capital of American food, what do you do if you feel like a great tasting, diet destroying burger? Simply any burger won’t do; you want the signature New York specialty at its very best. It can be tough to fish out, when there literally is a burger available at every corner. However, tough is not impossible, at least not for people who know the city! Here is a list that should help you satisfy your craving.

Corner Bistro

The burger at this small West Village bohemian bar is a huge surprise, literally. The burger, layered with cheese and bacon, is tender, juicy and big, and walks in to your table for a reasonable $6.75. The bar itself is atmospheric and has a classic West Village feel to it, something you will struggle to find today. All in all, the entire experience is quite enjoyable, especially if you place yourself at the bar table.

Shake Shack

Danny Meyer launched this institution in 2004, and it instantly became a Madison Square Park hub. The long lines, especially during the lunch hours, bear testimony to the quality of the fast food available here. The burger is fresh and tender, and you will hardly find its match in any fast food joint.

The Palm

The Palm is real Americana: a classic steakhouse. It opened in the 1920s on the 2nd Avenue, and has since spread across the country. Walk into any of its four Manhattan branches, and you will find the Bozzi Burger right there, staring up at you from the menu. It is named after one of the restaurant’s founders, and certainly does credit to his name. It is juicy and large, and the USP is its distinct, mildly charred flavor. It is so good you will be singing its praises long after your meal.

Best Burger and Shakes

Here is a name you can afford to take literally. This 10-seater Midtown joint is modest in its dimensions, and definitely doesn’t count among those places you make a special trip to. However, if you just want to sit at home and get something delivered right to you, you could hardly ask for something better. Don’t expect much from the fries and the rings, but the burger itself is a welcome break from the flat, commercial taste one seems to find everywhere. It is what friends would serve you at a back-yard hangout: fresh, large as it comes, cooked to perfection and lovingly prepared.
